Dr. Michael Megehee
FMCSA-Selected Subject Matter Expert & Founder, TeamCME
Dr. Michael Megehee is a nationally recognized authority in DOT medical compliance. In 2005, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) selected him as one of only 10 subject-matter experts nationwide to design and write the original NRCME training curriculum that established the federal standard for medical examiner certification.
He has trained thousands of medical examiners, contributed to NRCME exam question development, and co-taught FMCSA curriculum courses alongside Dr. Joseph Sentef, who served as the FMCSA Chief Medical Officer. His work continues to guide examiner education, compliance best practices, and documentation standards across the industry.
Dr. Megehee now serves as Founder & Senior Advisor to TeamCME, where his expertise supports medical providers in performing accurate, compliant DOT medical exams.

Dr. Jeffrey Carlson
Chief Medical Officer, TeamCME
Dr. Jeffrey Carlson is a nationally recognized educator and author in DOT testing and medical compliance. He co-developed Simple Physical, the DOT exam software platform used nationwide to ensure compliance and accuracy in driver medical exams, and co-created DOT Exam Expert (DEE) and ChatDOT, the world’s first AI-powered assistants for DOT examiners.
Working closely with Drs. Megehee and Joseph Sentef, Dr. Carlson has trained thousands of healthcare professionals to perform DOT-related medical services and build thriving occupational-medicine programs.
He is the author of the TeamCME Medical Examiner Reference Manual, a comprehensive resource for examiners, and has published in national healthcare journals. Dr. Carlson has written more than 100 educational articles for examiners, specimen collectors, and drivers, making him one of the most referenced experts in DOT medical training.
