Get an in-depth review of the medical determination criteria for seizures, strokes, traumatic brain injuries, and more. Also, a detailed overview of the hearing standard, common hearing disorders, and symptoms that may affect the ability to operate a commercial motor vehicle (CMV).

Learn about how and when to use the Skilled Performance Evaluation (SPE).

We will discuss possible issues and concerns regarding gastrointestinal and genitourinary conditions and give an overview of the urinalysis. Review the difference in protocols between insulin-treated diabetes and non-insulin-treated diabetes.

We discuss the guidelines for drivers suffering from mental health conditions. We also discuss how to make a correct certification determination for drivers using various medications.

Presenters

Dr. Michael Megehee, President of TeamCME. Dr. Mike was one of the original consultants who collaborated with the FMCSA to develop a core curriculum, identifying the critical knowledge and skills needed for those performing DOT physical exams. He was also part of the NRCME Working Integrated Product Team that created the first pool of actual test questions. He has provided training for medical examiners since 2003.

Dr. Jeffrey Carlson, Chief Medical Officer of TeamCME. Dr. Jeff works side-by-side with Dr. Mike to create and present both online and in-person training to perform DOT-related services. He is tirelessly striving to improve all aspects of TeamCME to better serve drivers and add value to medical professionals’ practices.
