What is a Driver Helpfulยฎ DOT Physical Exam?
Helping drivers is what we do. We know the medical requirements and we are interested in helping the driver maintain their livelihood. When needed, we steer drivers with medical conditions thru the requirements so they maintain a current CDL medical card.
Biography
Dr. Allison is the CEO and managing partner of Functional Capacity Experts, LLC, and Disability Management Group, LLC. He is a doctor of physical therapy and a certified DOT medical examiner with 24 years of clinical experience. Dr. Allison specializes in functional capacity evaluations (FCEs) for personal injury, workersโ compensation, long-term disability, and Social Security disability claims. He has performed over 5,000 FCEs to assess occupational disability, pain behavior, physical impairments, and loss of enjoyment of life.
Dr. Allison led the creation of the Functional Capacity Evaluation Best Practice Guidelines adopted by the American Physical Therapy Association in 2018. He also contributed to the Functional Capacity Evaluation and Disability Determination monograph published by the Academy of Orthopedic Physical Therapy in 2022. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed articles and presented at various conferences on FCEs, job analysis, employment testing, and test validation.
Dr. Allison has provided expert witness testimony in cases involving workersโ compensation, personal injury, medical malpractice, nursing home falls, and employment disability discrimination. He also offers peer reviews of FCE reports, job analyses, and employment tests to ensure validity and reliability.
Dr. Allison is recognized as an expert witness in Federal and State courts for functional capacity evaluations, orthopedic physical therapy, job analysis, and test validation.
