What is a Driver Helpful® DOT Physical Exam?
Helping drivers is what we do. We know the medical requirements and we are interested in helping the driver maintain their livelihood. When needed, we steer drivers with medical conditions thru the requirements so they maintain a current CDL medical card.
Biography
Stephen Fitzmeyer, M.D. is a physician and clinical informaticist based in Jacksonville, Florida. He is the founder of DOT Clinic, a focused occupational medicine practice serving commercial drivers, mariners, and safety-sensitive workers across Air, Land, and Sea.
Dr. Fitzmeyer completed two clinical informatics fellowships at Boston Medical Center and the Boston VA Healthcare System, where he combined direct patient care with advanced training in health systems, data, and clinical workflow optimization.
He is FMCSA-certified and provides DOT, FAA BasicMed, and Coast Guard examinations, along with hypertension and metabolic risk management using a root-cause, lifestyle-focused approach. His work integrates occupational medicine, preventive cardiometabolic care, and practical systems design to deliver efficient, accessible care for working adults.
