What is a Driver Helpful® DOT Physical Exam?
Helping drivers is what we do. We know the medical requirements and we are interested in helping the driver maintain their livelihood. When needed, we steer drivers with medical conditions thru the requirements so they maintain a current CDL medical card.
Biography
Jessica Guthrie, DNP, was raised in Gilman and Minturn in Eagle County, where she developed a deep appreciation for the hardworking individuals who keep Colorado’s mountain communities running. This strong local connection continues to guide her commitment to serving commercial drivers and employers throughout the region.
Dr. Guthrie is a board‑certified Nurse Practitioner, practicing since 2021, with specialized experience in Occupational Medicine and DOT CDL medical exams. Her clinical background, combined with years of conducting FMCSA‑compliant DOT physicals, allows her to deliver efficient, thorough, and driver‑focused medical certifications. Her educational background includes a Doctorate in Nursing Practice from Bradley University, a Nursing degree from the Denver School of Nursing, and a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from UC Davis. In addition, Dr. Guthrie is a Colorado State University–certified Master Gardener, reflecting her passion for health, sustainability, and the outdoors. Outside of work, Dr. Guthrie enjoys Colorado’s active mountain lifestyle. She spends summers hiking, rafting, and fishing, and winters snowshoeing and skiing throughout the high country.
After years of performing DOT CDL medical exams in Eagle and Summit counties, Dr. Guthrie identified significant challenges faced by commercial drivers seeking certification. Long travel distances, extended wait times, and lost workdays often make obtaining a DOT physical exam disruptive and inefficient. To address these barriers, Dr. Guthrie founded Colorado DOT DOC, a mobile DOT medical exam service dedicated to bringing CDL medical certification directly to drivers and employers. Colorado DOT DOC provides convenient, reliable DOT physical exams throughout Eagle, Lake, Chaffee, Grand, and Routt counties.
For employers with three or more commercial drivers, on‑site workplace exams are available to minimize downtime and keep fleets moving. Individual drivers can view the online calendar to find upcoming mobile clinic locations.
