Biography
Dr. Gerald E. Oranje grew up in Northern California, is a husband, father, grandfather and Doctor of Chiropractic in practice for approximately 30 years. He became interested in Chiropractic as a profession after he suffered a back injury while playing football in college and the coach referred him to a Doctor of Chiropractic. He became impressed by how quickly he got better after seeing several other doctors for his back pain. He developed a friendship with this doctor who motivated him to go to a Chiropractic College and Dr. Gerald E. Oranje took his advice graduating in 1986 Maga Cum Laude from Life West Chiropractic College.He began his Practice in Pittsburg (Northern California) as a team doctor for local high schools with emphasis on sports injuries/treatment and rehabilitation and serves as a QME (Qualified Medical Evaluator), for industrial injuries for the State of California and the EDD (Employment Development Dept.) as a State Appointed Examiner.
In 2008, Dr. Oranje was certified by Dr. Arthur Croft and the San Diego Spine Research Institute in brain traumatology with regard to high velocity/high speed impact injuries such as those found in motor vehicle collisions. Cervical Spine Acceleration/Deceleration or CAD type injuries can be quite complex and often present with multiple symptoms and injuries that require a thorough understanding of diagnosis of treatment. This is the primary reason why Dr. Oranje became interested and ultimately certified in the examination, diagnosis and treatment of these rather complex injuries.
Dr. Oranje also serves as a Nationally Certified Medical Examiner with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration in the capacity of performing annual DOT (Department of Transportation) physicals to school bus, ambulance and truck drivers.
Dr. Oranje and his support staff are located at 2525 Railroad Avenue, Pittsburg, California 94565 of Northern California in Contra Costa County. His practice offers injury treatment and rehabilitation of a multitude of musculoskeletal injuries. His office provides Radiology-X-ray-DOT-Department of Transportation physicals-BAT-Breath alcohol testing-Drug testing-Sports physicals-Chiropractic treatment-Spinal Therapeutic Traction-Cold Laser therapy-Therapeutic ultrasound-Ten’s EMS/Interferential current-Infrared-Diathermy-Kenesio Taping-supports/wraps/-DME-Durable medical equipment-Prescription for additional testing if needed i.e. NCS/EMG studies-MRI’s-Bone Scans-Video Fluoroscopy, etc. to help properly diagnose and treat musculoskeletal injuries.
