Dr. Laura was born and raised in nearby Negley and was a Beaver Local valedictorian. She went on to receive her Bachelor of Science at Westminster College. She decided to specialize in chiropractic medicine and received her Doctorate from New York Chiropractic College. She is trained in Diversified (hands-on) manipulation, she's certified in Impulse IQ (instrument adjusting) Technique, and uses drop-piece, Flexion-Distraction, ultrasound, electric muscle stimulation, and pelvic blocking. Dr. Laura was also one of the first doctors in the nation to achieve National Certification in the Department of Transportation as a Certified Medical Examiner.  And, in 2019, Dr. Laura went on to earn a second Bachelor of Science from New York Chiropractic College this one with a focus in Human Anatomy and Physiology Instruction.  This not only served as a helpful refresher but also gave her the credentials necessary to instruct at the college level.
