This course is intended for Medical Doctors (MD), Doctors of Osteopathy (DO), Doctors of Nursing Practice (DNP), Nurse Practitioners (NP), Physician Assistants (PA), Advanced Practice Nurses and Registered Nurses (APN & APRN) and Chiropractors.
It was designed by one of the ORIGINAL SUBJECT MATTER EXPERTS who collaborated with the FMCSA to develop a curriculum.
Each module focuses on the specific criteria needed to qualify an individual with specific medical conditions. Any regulation changes that pertain to these medical conditions are also discussed.
- Module #1 covers the roles of the driver, the motor carrier, and the medical examiner. The federal exemptions and SPE programs are also discussed.
- Module #2 covers hypertension, cardiovascular diseases, and sleep apnea
- Module #3 covers cerebrovascular diseases, seizures, neuromuscular diseases, diabetes, and mental health
Training jointly provided by the Postgraduate Institute for Medicine, Providers of Accredited Chiropractic Education (PACE), and TeamCME.
