Biography

Dr. Karen Hannah, DC, is a National Registry Certified Medical Examiner providing the CDL physical exam for drivers. Dr. Karen Hannah is originally from Cranbrook, British Columbia, Canada, and relocated to Maple Ridge, British Columbia when she was just two years old. She lived there until she was eight, when she and her family moved to Davenport, Iowa. As she approached high school age, she accepted the challenge of being a student athletic trainer, which she enjoyed for five years. She learned the basics of preventative care, physical therapy, and the importance of patients’ trust and care. Throughout this process, she realized what she wanted to do with her life when “she grew up”. She wanted to expand her knowledge about human health/wellbeing and that meant studying Health Sciences. With her newly found passion, she graduated from Davenport West High School in 2003 and pursued a Pre-Medicine career at Western Illinois University in Macomb, IL.

Three years later in May of 2006, she graduated as Magna Cum Laude and earned her Bachelor of Science (with an emphasis in Zoology) and minors in Psychology and Chemistry. During her time at Western Illinois University, she was a Librarian’s assistant, para-professional counselor for a suicide help hotline, held numerous leadership positions in volunteer organizations, was a core developer for an honor’s society organization on campus and gained research experience as a lab assistant. Two months after graduating from Western Illinois, Dr. Hannah matriculated at one of the finest and prestigious Chiropractic colleges: Palmer College of Chiropractic. As if the classes did not keep her busy enough, she was involved in Atlas Orthogonal technique club (President, Treasurer), National Boards Specialist (Co-director), Vice President of her class, Canadian Club (Treasurer), Campus Guides (President, Treasurer, Historian and Assistant to the President), Electronic Health Records Assistant and Teaching Assistant for the Diagnosis Department throughout her three and a third years of chiropractic school. Finally, in October 2009, Dr. Hannah earned her Doctorate of Chiropractic degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic. Upon graduation, she received a Life Time Achievement Award, Excellence in Student Governance and was awarded the “Above and Beyond” and “Guide of the Tri” awards for 3 trimesters. Her work experience includes 7 months in Chiropractic Care as an associate doctor (November 2009 to May 2010), 4 months as a student-doctor preceptor at New Era Chiropractic (July 2009 to October 2009) and 2 weeks as a Clinic Abroad student intern in Fiji (June 2009). In May 2010, Dr. Hannah decided it was time to venture out and begin her own private practice in Morton, Illinois. 7 months later, her hard work and meticulous planning paid off; her dreams came true and she officially opened her dream practice in January 2011.

Since opening her practice in 2011, Dr. Hannah has had the opportunity to serve not only her community as an Ambassador for the Morton Chamber of Commerce (for the last 4 years) and Sweet Shop Co-Chairman of the Morton Pumpkin Festival, but also impoverished communities around the world as one of the original doctors of Peak Potential Outreach. Dr. Hannah has experienced 5 amazing, week long health mission trips to Fiji with Peak Potential Outreach, providing care to over 1000 patients and has plans to travel with the non-profit organization yearly. Even one adjustment can change someone’s life; that’s what these health missions are about to Dr. Hannah.

In her free time, Dr. Hannah loves to travel, be outside doing anything and soak up the sun; especially if she is playing sand volleyball, at the beach or surrounded by a body of water. However, if the weather is less than desirable and she is not on vacation, she enjoys playing with her dog, Hercules (who frequently comes to work with Dr. Hannah), playing cards, spending time with her family, chatting with old friends, playing indoor sports, and watching football (especially the Bears). Dr. Hannah believes she did not choose chiropractic as a profession, it chose her; she is very grateful and gracious to accept that privilege.

Dr. William Ellis IX, DC
Yes, you did read that correctly, Dr. Ellis is the ninth generation William Ellis! Originally from Fostoria, a rural town in Northwest Ohio, Dr. Ellis grew up in a small family with a younger sister and an ingenuitive attitude towards life. He always knew his aspirations would take him beyond the opportunities available in his home town.

Dr. Ellis is a National Registry Certified Medical Examiner providing the CDL physical exam for drivers.

Upon graduating from high school with honors, in 2001, Dr. Ellis kept his family tradition alive by enrolling in The Ohio State University for the 2001 fall semester. After attending OSU for two years with an undeclared major, he decided to focus his studies on a degree in Exercise Science. One day, during his senior year, an ad in the OSU school newspaper caught his eye. The ad had been placed by a local Chiropractor’s office, offering an internship to a student majoring in Exercise Science. At the time, his focus was not on becoming a Chiropractor, however it was not long before he discovered this internship would ultimately be opportunity of a lifetime!

Dr. Ellis graduated from The Ohio State University in 2006 with a Bachelors of Education in Exercise Science. He spent the next two years working as a Chiropractic Tech/Personal/Group Fitness Trainer at the same office where he had completed his internship. While he loved his job, Dr. Ellis quickly realized his true passion and career goal was to become a Doctor of Chiropractic.

Subsequently, in February of 2008 Dr. Ellis made the move to Davenport, Iowa to attend the Palmer College of Chiropractic. Although graduate school was a bit of an adjustment with all of the late nights and long hours of coursework, Dr. Ellis embarked on the daunting journey towards pursuing his passion. Along the way, he was fortunate to have met some life-long friends, while at the same time reveling in the clashes of collegiate banter from his classmates. Along with his studies, he enjoyed Palmer bowling intramurals and being an Ambassador for Palmer's Center for Business Development. After ten trimesters and three and a third years of intense coursework, Dr. Ellis graduated with his Doctor of Chiropractic degree in the summer of 2011.

During his leisure time, Dr. Ellis enjoys several hobbies including watching sports, especially his beloved Buckeyes, Strength Training, Woodworking, and Electronics.
